Joanne is passionate about the role of museums in Scotland’s society and the importance of culture in international development. Joanne’s experience in heritage, culture and tourism spans over twenty five years and she attended the Getty Institute for museum leaders.
Joanne is a Director of the International Council of Museum’s UK Board, a former Director for the UK National Commission for UNESCO and is a recognised expert in intangible cultural heritage.
Alison’s key interests are evidencing the social impact of the museums sector, developing continuous improvement models and aligning the work of museums to policy outcomes. Alison has been with MGS for nine years and has worked previously in government policy making, corporate communications and tertiary education.
